The Winery

In 1912, our ancestors came from Spain and Italy, settled in San Rafael, and started working with what they knew best: the vineyards. Mostly, they planted Malbec; it was obvious they knew that it adapted perfectly to the area. They knew how to communicate the love for working the land and the necessary effort to progress. I have always tried to transmit these values to our children, who already take part in the management of the company.

The winery was originally built in 1905 and the main structure has been maintained up to these days; although new technologies have been incorporated and adapted, the two-nave original architecture has been preserved, with a third one added, respecting its original style.

It is located on the outskirts of San Rafael, surrounded by vineyards and poplar groves. The beauty of the landscape near the winery is highlighted by its limpid skies and clear, transparent meltwaters coming from the Andes. In San Rafael, located in the Southern area of the Province of Mendoza, the Roca family has devoted their lives to their vineyards for the last four generations. In 1976, the enologist Alfredo Roca fulfilled his dream of having his own winery where he could use the grapes grown in the family's vineyards. At present, his children are running the company, which has adapted to the current market through state-of-the-art technology, and has established itself as a model winery in the region.

The company's motto, "Family Dedication, Wines with Soul" summarizes our family's values and commitment. The prestige of our wines is the result of our constant effort to obtain outstanding raw material and to perform an adequate harvest, coupled with great making and aging of wine. The company has obtained all the international standards required in every area, proven by the fact that we export to very demanding markets in Europe and the United States, among others. Our Quality Management System is certified to ISO 9001-2008.

The Roca family has one consuming passion: obtaining the best grapes and making excellent wines.
